Bradpole Preschool is a warm, welcoming and child-centred setting, located in a dedicated classroom at the rear of The Sir John Colfox School, overlooking the school’s sports facilities. We have been part of the local community since 2007, when we moved from the Forsters Memorial Hall in Bradpole to our current premises.

We provide high-quality early years care and education for children aged two to five years, with up to 26 children attending each session. Our aim is to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where every child feels valued, develops a strong sense of belonging and is supported to learn, grow and flourish.

We are registered with Ofsted, fully insured and part of the Nursery Education Grant Scheme. As a non-profit organisation with charitable status and our own constitution, we are proud to be a community-focused preschool where children and families are at the heart of everything we do.

The Preschool is managed by a dedicated volunteer committee, made up primarily of parents and carers of children who attend. Their involvement helps us to remain closely connected to the families and community we serve and supports the continued development of our setting.  To find out more about the Committee click here.

We believe that strong relationships and partnerships are central to children’s wellbeing and learning. Parents, carers and grandparents are warmly welcomed as an important part of our preschool community. We value the unique skills, interests and experiences that families bring and encourage everyone to become involved in ways that feel meaningful and manageable.

There are many ways to be part of preschool life, whether that is sharing a skill or interest, helping with cooking activities, reading a story, joining us on a walk or outing, supporting creative activities, or simply spending time with the children and getting to know our setting. These shared experiences enrich our curriculum and provide children with opportunities to learn from the wider community around them.

We understand that family life is busy and that not everyone is able to come into the setting during the day. Being part of our preschool community does not have to mean being physically present. Sharing information about your child, contributing ideas, talking to us about their interests and experiences, joining in with events when you can, or supporting learning and development at home are all valuable ways to work alongside us.

We see parents and carers as children’s first and most important educators, and we value the knowledge and understanding that families have of their children. By working together, sharing experiences and communicating openly, we can build on what children already know and can do and support them to make progress during their time with us.

Above all, we want Bradpole Preschool to feel like a community where everyone belongs — children, families and staff. A place where children can play, explore, make friends, have fun and laugh, while developing the confidence, curiosity, independence and skills they need for their next stage of learning and for life.
